The City of Los Angeles and the rest of the Union Pacific streamliner fleet reached a pinnacle in the mid-50s with post-war passenger traffic eager to vacation in the west. During the peak years, UP ordered stunning dome coaches, dome observation cars, and dome dining cars. After the arrival of the dome cars, all UP trains carrying domes became known as 'Domeliners,' and the City of Los Angeles, with its popular Domeliners, became the UP's premier train.

The two unique dome cars in the K-LINE®'s City of Los Angeles, are reproduced here in full O Scale with a strict eye for prototypical accuracy. Each passenger car has a unique interior specific to that car's body style. For example the tables, chairs and place settings are clearly visible as the Diner car passes by on the track.

We reproduced the real 72 foot UP passenger cars in full O Scale (18 inches). That's 18 long inches of sleek extruded aluminum metal! The 18 inch cars require 42 inch diameter curves.
