For sheer eye appeal, nothing could compare to the Alco PA. But these Alco engines were short-lived on the PRR. Unfortunately, performance didn’t measure up to beauty and the Alcos never equalled the reliability of the Electro-Motive (EMD) locomotives. First introduced on the Rio Grande in 1947, the Alcos were replaced with F3s by the mid-50s. These detailed models feature the standard sound and operating system, Lionel RailSounds and TrainMaster Command Control. They also include smoke and electrocouplers at front of each A Unit.

Ihave seen this item advertised as "semi-scale" which I believe is what Lionel calls "traditional) O scale.

Also this set is an ABA configuration and your length figure provides a length of 30.5" for an A-A configuration. This makes sense for a traditional A-B-A config but if indeed it is for an A-A then it is too big for semi-scale.
