Milwaukee Road

In 1935 the Milwaukee Road ordered its skilled shop forces to design and build new lightweight 'speedliner' cars to compete with the Burlington Route. Wearing the vivid orange and maroon livery of the Milwaukee Road, the Hiawathas hit the rails in May, making the 410-mile Chicago to St. Paul trip in just 6 hours and 30 minutes.

Led by F-7 diesel engines powered by dual motors and controlled by TrainMaster Command Control, this model Hiawatha passenger train will swiftly travel any layout. Named in honor of the legendary folk hero, these Native American themed cars are reproduced in prototypical detail, including all the features of the Hiawatha’s steel coaches.

Extend any 21 inch Milwaukee Road train with either Buy War Bonds Coach #477. Choose the patriotic red, white and blue version as painted in September 1942 or choose the version that matches the orange and maroon Hiawatha cars.

Expand your Milwaukee Set with this 2-PAC of 21 inch Super Dome Cars. Milwaukee Road owned ten of these cars, the heaviest passenger car ever made, weighing 112 tons each.
