Put some muscle into your layout with our powerful F Unit Diesel Engines. Each A Unit is powered with dual motors. When operating as an A-B-A Unit, all four motors work in sync to pull an amazing 4.4 lbs in drawbar pull tests! This force translates into the ability to pull 125 Classic freight cars on the layout.
The innovative PowerLinkâ„¢, system connects all motors to one electronic reversing unit. Since this common E-Unit coordinates all motors, smooth operation is ensured and all motors pull in the same direction at the same time.

The Mars light, located below the headlight, is a common feature of the F-7 Diesels. The Mars light is a moving beam that sweeps back and forth across the track to offer warning that a speeding locomotive is approaching. The Mars light was considered standard equipment on many high-speed diesel trains. The operation of the Scale Mars light on the front of these F-7 A Units has been accurately reproduced — the light appears to oscillate back and forth as the engine barrels down the tracks. This safety feature is especially fun for night railroading.
