K-4643C K-4643C

In 1935, the Milwaukee Road ordered its skilled shop forces to design and build new lightweight “speedliner” cars to compete with Burlington’s new Twin Zephyrs slated to enter service to the Twin Cities in April of that year. Named in honor of the legendary folk hero, these Indian-themed cars are reproduced in prototypical detail, including all the features of the Hiawatha’s modernistic, welded stainless steel coaches. Unique car interiors include painted passenger figures with realistic StreamLighting® Illumination.
