The short-lived paint scheme featured on the Union Pacific’s Challenger passenger train will make a unique addition to any UP collection. The two-tone gray livery introduced by the UP in 1946 was assigned to all heavyweight cars to present a new post-war passenger image. The familiar yellow and gray that originally decorated the UP’s streamliner cars, such as K-LINE’s Arden Business Car, was applied to all passenger equipment in 1952.
