K3238-1152S   Lack Pocono Steam & Tender, Real Sounds®
    $474.95 ea.
K3238-1152S

The die cast Pocono engine and tender are both loaded with incredible details that you won't find on other O Gauge Steam Engines.
Details include turned metal stanchions to hold the handrails in place. No detail was too small to capture, including the swinging brass bell, the coupler lift chain and opening boiler front.

Operating marker lights on both engine and tender, signal this engine's high quality. The Real Sounds® full digital sound recreates the sounds of steam railroading while the smoke unit produces just the right amount of smoke.

This Pocono Steam Engine also includes both a Scale die cast coupler and an O Gauge die cast coupler to allow for either scale or O Gauge rail operation.

Engine No. 1152, built in 1937 by Schenectady Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, PA, was one of the last steam passenger locomotives purchased by the Lackawanna. This strong and speedy workhorse, destined for the Scranton-Buffalo run, turned out to be too much engine for the route. Although the powerful locomotive could pull 18 cars at 80 mph, its speed was limited to 70 mph and its consist averaged only 10 cars. The engines must have been good because the Lackawanna used them until the very end of steam on the Lackawanna rails. The Poconos were retired in 1952, less than a year before the railroad stopped using steam entirely.

K-LINE®'s all die cast Lackawanna Pocono locomotive is authentically reproduced with a prototypical boiler front, pilot, feed water heater, horn detail, and a new style of box-pok driver wheels.
