K-1216   Amtrak 21" Heritage Passenger Set Amtrak
    $849.95 ea.

Amtrak Heritage Cars

Amtrak’s premier diesel-electric engine, the F40PH is one of the most recognized engines to travel the rails. Introduced by Electro-Motive Division in 1976, this turbo-charged, 3,000 hp, four-axle locomotive significantly contributed to the reliability of Amtrak operations. This popular locomotive is an important addition to any Amtrak layout. Two eras of Amtrak passenger trains are available as packaged sets.

The cars that became known as the Heritage Fleet were recycled from a variety of existing railroads. Beginning with a rainbow of rolling stock in 1971, this rag-tag fleet was re-shopped and re-painted Amtrak’s newly-designed red, white and blue paint scheme. These 21 inch aluminum cars feature full interiors with figures, our patented overhead StreamLighting illumination and a hidden uncoupling mechanism for smooth and realistic operation. This set is led by an F40PH with RailSounds and TMCC for the latest in operational realism. Electrocouplers are also included for easy consist building.
