Seen at the '39 World's Fair

Pennsylvania is known for its fleet of 425 K4 locomotives, but one is more famous than all the rest. Thanks to Raymond Loewy and his shrouded design, K4 number 3768 is one of the most distinctive engines in the Pennsy fleet. Painted in the Brunswick Green color it wore during the 1939 World's Fair and equipped with Lionel RailSounds, TrainMaster Command Control and an Electrocoupler on the tender, this Torpedo is the best yet.

This engine and tender feature a tremendous number of scale level details, yet are designed to run on 31 inch curves.

With much ballyhoo the Pennsylvania Fleet of Modernism was inaugurated on June 15, 1938. As the name implies, the PRR had outfitted the fleet to carry passengers into the future on the Broadway Limited, Spirit of St Louis, The General and the Liberty Limited. These four trains consisted of brand new Pullman lightweight cars, as well as refurbished Heavyweight cars. All carried the Raymond Loewy-designed two-tone tuscan paint scheme with multiple gold stripes. This set includes five aluminum passenger cars painted in that classic scheme.
