K-29801

For sheer eye appeal, nothing could compare to the Alco PA. But these Alco engines were short-lived on the Pennsylvania Railroad. Unfortunately, performance didn’t measure up to beauty and the Alcos never equalled the reliability of the Electro-Motive (EMD) locomotives. First introduced in 1947, the Alcos were replaced with F3s by the mid-50s.
