K-3540W   Vanderbilt Oil Tender w/dig whistle Southern Pacific
    $149.95 ea.
K-3540W

The new Vanderbilt Tender is made out of die cast metal with incredible attention to prototypical accuracy. The real Vanderbilt was designed by and named after, Cornelius Commodore Vanderbilt, who controlled the NYC Railroad for many years. Many railroads used Vanderbilt Tenders, however, the NYC did not. The Vanderbilt was designed to carry water in the large tank and used either the traditional fuel source of coal (to heat the water into steam) or a separate tank of oil, depending on the railroad’s needs and what was available.
