The "tank" is extruded aluminum (from the same tooling as what we made the scale extruded aluminum tank cars with.) The tank is capped off on the ends with the flatcar's bulkheads. So it gives a pretty good illusion of being a tank capable of holding fluid. I based this car (not the graphics) on a Lionel postwar flatcar with tank.
